5 facts about new Manchester United signing Romelu Lukaku:


  1. Five-a-side football:

The Belgian is a young footballer, and as it is with many youngsters, Lukaku to likes playing football in his spare time. Last month, he was involved in a five-a-side match involving Premier League players. Lukaku had selected Thibaut Courtois, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Vincent Kompany. The game created some sparks pertaining to Lukaku’s future, but the Belgian was quick enough to clear up on Twitter that it was just a game.


  1. Friendship with Paul Pogba:

It is not recently that Paul Pogba and Lukaku have bonded well, it has been a while now. The pair went to Miami on holiday last year even before Pogba decided to return to Manchester United. Lukaku and Pogba have been seen playing basketball together and share a very good rapport. It is no wonder that many are terming Pogba as the agent to convince Lukaku to sign for United. It is interesting to see what the pair do together on the pitch.


  1. Huge Physique:

United need a strong figure up front especially after seeing what Zlatan Ibrahimovic did. Lukaku is almost as the same height as Paul Pogba is and strongly has shown his strength in the Premier League every now and then. In 2011, Lukaku was found stating that he never used to lift weights and that his physique is God’s gift to him. That being said, Lukaku looked a small man recently when he was spotted in a photograph with Paul Pogba and NBA star Serge Ibaka.


  1. Always optimistic:

The Belgian was involved in a documentary in 2009 when he was touring Stamford Bridge while on a school trip to London. It was then when he declared his desire to play for Chelsea. He was successful in fulfilling his dream, but it didn’t come in between when he asked Jose Mourinho to let him leave after missing his penalty in the shootout in the 2013 match against Bayern Munich where they lost the European Super Cup.


  1. Multi-language speaker:

It has been a long time now that the Belgian is playing in England and it is great to learn that he has not only quickly learned the English language but is already aware of some of the other commonly used languages. The former Chelsea striker can speak French, Dutch, Spanish, English, and Portuguese. It is amazing how Lukaku will be able to easily communicate with some of United’s players using the same language they speak. It sure will help build their chemistry.
