5. Derby County:
It has all been going well for Derby County ever since Chelsea legend Frank Lampard took over. Sitting in the 6th place with 51 points, Derby look in good form and with the signing of Ashley Cole in the winter transfer window, it will only boost their chances of promotion. Loanee Harry Wilson and striker Jack Marriott have looked good for Derby and their goals remain crucial to Derby’s ambition to play in the Premier league next season.
Tony Pulis is known for his defensive style of play and even though it looks boring, it has worked out for him at Middlesbrough. Boro are sitting in the fifth position with 54 points, nine points away from the top place. Pulis knows how to grind out results when needed and that is the exact reason why the Boro fans will be optimistic of a promotion next summer.
3. Leeds United:
Marco Bielsa has been in the news for all the wrong reasons recently but one cannot just ignore his tactical knowledge. Under him, Leeds United have looked a very entertaining side as they have adopted an attacking style of football some of the best managers in the world currently have been using. With just two points away from the top, Bielsa will be strongly backed to take Leeds back to the Premier league next season given the form they are in.
2. West Bromwich Albion:
After the departure of Alan Pardew, Darren Moore took over as the manager of West Bromwich Albion. To everyone’s surprise, Moore has done a very good job contrary to what Alan Pardew and Tony Pulis were able to do with West Brom. They are placed in the fourth position with 57 points, possessing one of the strongest teams in the Championship right now. Both Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez have looked very effective in front of the goal and the Baggies have a real chance of getting promoted if it carries on the same way.
- Norwich City:
Norwich finished in the 14th position last summer but the team under Daniel Farke looked a bit different team in a very positive way and the patience with Farke has paid off. The club sit proudly at the top of the table with 63 points playing some smart attacking football. Teemu Pukki has been their star player going forward and it is guaranteed that there are going to be suitors for him come this summer. Norwich will hope to get promoted with Pukki still playing for them in the Premier league next season.
