- Patrick Roberts:
Patrick came through Manchester City’s academy and currently plays for Celtic in the Scottish Premier league. He won the league last season with the Scottish club and is developing well under Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers. Patrick’s father has been a Liverpool supporter while his mother has always supported Everton. While there was confusion for Patrick as to whom to support, he liked Liverpool and their legend Steven Gerrard. He loved Liverpool’s FA Cup triumph over West Ham in 2006 where Gerrard scored a sensational volley.
- Dele Alli:
Alli showed great potential while he was at MK Dons in the Championship before he moved to the Premier League to join Tottenham Hotspur. Alli was a Liverpool supporter and it was Steven Gerrard who inspired him to support the Reds. The Istanbul final, the FA Cup final and the match against Olympiakos where Gerrard scored important goals amazed Alli. He may join a bigger club in the coming years and it is interesting to see if the Merseyside club still tempts him.
- Adrien Rabiot:
The young French midfielder has a lot of potential to become one of the best midfielders in the world. Rabiot at the age of 22 has already won four Ligue 1 titles. In his deep midfield role, Rabiot has thrived well with the big names around him. He was a key figure in beating Bayern Munich in the group stages this season and looks ready to make an impact with the national team too. Rabiot has been a fan of Liverpool from a very young age and has expressed his desire to move to the Premier League someday and may be play for the Reds.
- Kevin De Bruyne:
The Belgium midfielder is arguably one of the best midfielders in the world right now. De Bruyne is phenomenal on the ball with his exquisite passing and superb playmaking abilities. Kevin grew up idolizing the great Michael Owen especially when he was at Liverpool. With his mother being half English, Kevin and his mother regularly followed English football as they liked to see Liverpool play on a regular basis.
- Sergio Aguero:
The Argentine striker attracted a lot of attention when he decided to move away from his boyhood club Independiente before he joined Atletico Madrid. He expressed his desire to join the Premier League and Liverpool under Rafa Benitez was one of the destinations in his mind. But things didn’t materialize as Aguero joined Atletico and later joined Manchester City in the Premier League. Aguero has been doing wonders from the time he has been playing in the Premier league and one wonders what would have been the case had he joined Liverpool earlier.
