Former Manchester United footballers who might be signed again

3. Wilfried Zaha:

Zaha was quite a sensation when he came to Manchester United from Crystal Palace, signed on the insistence of Sir Alex Ferguson. Unfortunately for Zaha, he came at a time at United when Sir Alex was retiring and handing over a massive responsibility of managing a huge club like United to David Moyes. Under the Scottish manager, Zaha didn’t get enough chances and couldn’t capitalize much on the chances he received. He was loaned to Crystal Palace before they permanently signed him. Zaha has grown and developed into a sensational attacker now as he offers plenty going forward. He can be a lethal threat in the attack should United opt to sign him again and bolster their attack especially on the wings.

2. Angel Di Maria:

When Angel Di Maria came to Manchester United, a lot was expected from him given the form he was in and also because of the transfer fee. Under Louis Van Gaal, the then Manchester United manager, Maria showed some good form in his early days with the Red Devils. But with time, things didn’t go as expected and Maria lost form and it was very evident that he wanted to move out from the club. Maybe the timing was bad and right now, the Argentine is struggling to cement his place at Paris Saint Germain. United need a talented winger like Maria in their ranks but they will have to think quite a bit before signing the former Real Madrid man given the age factor and how he will be demanding to play regularly and not be benched more often.

  1. Memphis Depay:

Alike Di Maria, Depay too came at a time when United weren’t looking at their best under Louis Van Gaal. The Dutch manager deployed a rather defensive strategy which was surely not suiting the style of play Depay likes to play in. also, Depay had his own struggles on the pitch and therefore it was best both for the player and the club that a transfer took place when Jose Mourinho arrived at United. Depay joined Lyon in the Ligue 1 and things have definitely changed for him in France. He has looked more sharp and confident on the ball and has contributed well in the attack with his goals and assists. United do have a buy-back clause in place for Depay considering his potential and it wouldn’t be a bad choice to exercise it given the form the Dutch winger is in.
