- Chris Smalling:
It is a big question as to where Smalling’s future lies considering his inconsistent performances for United. The English centre back has failed to convince the United faithful that he can be a long term player with the Red Devils. It will take a drastic turnaround in form to cement his place in the current United side as the Englishman earns a questionable £80,000 per week.
- Antonio Valencia:
The Ecuadorian has been a great servant for United over the years. He started out as a winger but failed to establish his best form in that role but with some revamping, he has been able to find his best as United’s right back. He provides great stability at the back and also a good attacking threat which rightly justifies his £100,000 per week wages.
- Ashley Young:
The Englishman did well under Sir Alex Ferguson but with time lost his charm as a winger. Under Jose Mourinho, he has started finding some good form and rhythm as a full back but he needs to be a lot more consistent to prove his £110,000 per week wages.
- Nemanja Matic:
The Serbian midfielder was signed this summer by United from Chelsea. It was a surprising deal given the brilliant abilities as a defensive midfielder. Nonetheless, it has turned out to be a great coup for United and it is only right that he earns £120,000 per week.
- Zlatan Ibrahimovic:
It is surprising to see a player of Zlatan’s stature down the list but it also speaks about his greatness as the Swedish striker took a huge cut to rejoin United after a severe injury. Currently, he earns £125,000 per week as the United fans eagerly await him to return back on the pitch.
- Juan Mata:
The Spaniard is amongst the fan favorites having spent a considerable amount of time now with the Red Devils. With all the recruitment United have done lately, Mata still remains one of United’s key players as the classy Spanish midfielder earns £140,000 a week.
- Romelu Lukaku:
The Belgian striker joined United last summer and since then has been having a mixed spell with the Red Devils. There’s no denying about his quality and it is about time that his best can be seen on the pitch. Being one of the best strikers in the Premier League, Lukaku earns £200,000 per week.
- David De Gea:
De Gea is arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League if not in the world. He has time and again saved United from conceding crucial goals and it is amazing how he keeps away some of the unstoppable shots. With a new contract very much incoming, De Gea will be seen earning more than his current £200,000 per week salary.
- Paul Pogba:
The Frenchman is arguably one of the finest midfielders in the world right now. Although, Pogba has struggled to reach his best at United, one just cannot write him off. When on song, Pogba can easily dominate the game and Jose Mourinho would be hoping to get him do exactly that. He was United’s highest earning player until Sanchez arrived with a weekly wage of £220,000.
- Alexis Sanchez:
It was a stunning move from United to sign Alexis Sanchez this January from Arsenal. The Chilean has a lot to offer and it is commendable how United managed to convince him to join them rather than joining their neighbors Manchester City. The transfer makes him United’s highest earning player with £350,000 a week.
