6) Arsenal – 1998/99, 2003/04, 2007/08
Under Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have thrice gone a season unbeaten at home. One of those seasons was the famous invincible season, when the Gunners went an entire season undefeated, home or away. At home though, they were invincible also back in ’98, Arsene Wenger’s 2nd season, when the club finished 2nd in the premiership. After the 2003/04 invincible season, the Gunners once again repeated the undefeated at home feat in the 2007/08 season. In addition to being invincible at home, the Gunners were fairly good in other competitions, reaching the quarters of Champions league and semis of the League Cup.
5) Manchester United – 1995/96, 1999/00, 2010/11
Like Wenger at Arsenal, Sir Alex too accumulated every major trophy building United as one of the most successful ever teams in world football. The club first went undefeated at home in the ’96 season, when they won the newly formed Premier league. The title was also Sir Alex’s 3rd. Three seasons later, United once again achieved the feat, winning the title by a record 18 points. In the 2010/11 season, Red Devils once again proved impregnable winning their 12th league title that year. Under Mourinho, the fear factor of Old Trafford also seems to have returned.
4) Liverpool – 2008/09
The 2013/14 campaign was as close as Liverpool have come to winning the title, losing out to Manchester City with just 3 match days to go. In 2008/09 too, Liverpool came ever so close. The Reds even went undefeated at Anfield the entire season, though, lost to rivals Manchester United by just 4 points. The club have since never really built on their fine run. Under Klopp, Liverpool look like a force to be reckoned with again; but if Manchester City continue the same way, there is little even the German could do to help Liverpool win the title.
3) Tottenham Hotspur – 2016/17
Easily the best team in the last couple of years in the Premier league, it is a huge shame that Spurs have no title to show for all their success. Nevertheless, the club did have a record breaking last season as they went the entire season undefeated at White Hart Lane, finishing 2nd in the league. Unstoppable on their day, Spurs went on to win 14 straight home games, marking the last game on the now Old White Hart Lane with a win against United.
2) Chelsea – 2004/05, 2005/06, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2014/15
The Blues achieved the feat under the self proclaimed Special One, Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese made Chelsea from ambitious club to a title winning side, winning back to back league titles, threatening the dominance of Manchester United. So much so, that Chelsea went undefeated at the Bridge for 3 straight seasons, which in itself is a huge achievement. After a massive 77 games, Mourinho finally lost at the Bridge, when Sunderland grabbed a surprising 1-0 win. However, Chelsea once again went undefeated in 2014/15 season, winning the league title.
1)Manchester City – 2011/12
Like Chelsea, Manchester City too have become a force since the injection of money in the club. After years of spending, City finally won their first league title in the 2011/12 season in a dramatic fashion, scoring a winner in the 93rd minute to grab the league title from their rivals’ hands. They went the entire season undefeated though nearly lost on the final matchday to QPR, before Dzeko and Aguero scored to overturn the game and win the league. This season, City have been running away with the league title, and are also undefeated at home so far. With just 5 games to go, perhaps, City will make it the 2nd time they went an entire campaign undefeated at home.
