Top 5 Manchester United transfer targets

Antoine Griezmann

It is time for Griezmann to make his move and join Manchester United finally. Considered as one of the best players in the World right now, the Atletico Madrid forward suffered a slight dip in form this season.

A left-footed genius capable of playing lone striker or a false 9, Griezmann is a treat to watch when in form. He is a set-piece specialist and has impeccable long rangers added to his arsenal. Jose Mourinho has been an admirer of Griezmann since the dawn of time and is desperate to sign the French genius.

Manchester United will look to spill big on him, and Griezmann has informed the Madrid authorities that he wants out. Mourinho will slot Griezmann as a central striker with Rashford in behind him with Lingard and Martial on the wings.

Ivan Perisic

The hard working Croatian winger is another Mourinho favourite who could well be a red devil this summer. The winger currently plies his trade for Inter Milan, but a Champions League opportunity and the chance to play in the Premier League might be enough to seal the deal.

Perisic is a tenacious winger with an outstanding work rate and terrific crossing ability. He can fit into the hostile Premier League conditions well and is also known to lose his temper. Jose can also shift to a three-man defence and use Perisic as a wing-back at times.

The deal is yet to be finalised, but it looks like Chelsea boss Conte is interested in swooping Perisic in. It would be tough for United, but a guaranteed Champions League spot next season might be enough.

Danny Rose

Manchester United are keen on signing English star Danny Rose from Spurs. Tottenham and Pochettino are hell bent on keeping their talented side back for another long season, but Manchester United is ready to pay the hefty price tag attached to him.

Danny Rose is a swashbuckling left back who can maraud up and down the field all day long. He is a tenacious yet skilful player with robust technique helping him develop his defensive traits. Luke Shaw hasn’t really won Mourinho’s favour, and Daley Blind isn’t fast enough for a left back. Rose can make it to the starting eleven with relative ease.

Rose is currently injury stricken but will be back when the next season commences. Spurs look to be confident enough, but rumours have surfaced linking a potential move to United.

Raphael Varane

The former Real Madrid manager will look to rope in Varane, who has the potential to become one of the greatest defenders. Varane has guaranteed a starting spot for the Los Blancos, and there has been very little signs owing to his departure.

Varane is an extremely quick centre-back with an outstanding aerial ability and loves to play the ball out from in his own half. He is deadly from set-pieces much like Sergio Ramos. Varane tends to make those occasional mistakes, but that cannot undermine his potential and playing style. His strong physique will help him adapt to the English conditions well.

However, the only real chance of buying Varane would mean a swap with David De Gea. The Spaniard is set to join Real, but this isn’t the case the other way around.

Victor Lindelof

Manchester United almost signed the Benfica centre-back in the winter transfer market but stalled the process. It is clear that United are in pursuit of the highly rated 23-year old defender.

Victor Lindelof, much like Varane has a tall stature and good aerial prowess. He has shown great maturity with Benfica and doesn’t dive into reckless challenges, and likes to play short passes rather than no-nonsense defending. He is blessed with exceptional positional sense as well.

Manchester United can splash £52 million on him, and make him one of the costliest defenders ever. There is no doubt that the move will be materialised, the question remains when.
