Unbelievable records held by Mohamed Salah

32 goals a season in the league

To simply put as a comparative study, Salah scored more goals in a season ever where players like Ronaldo, Kane, Aguero, and Henry didn’t achieve. His 32 goals tally last year showed why Klopp had invested in a winger who was all about pace and little about end product once. He has enjoyed the company of Firmino and Mane, and that has helped him up his game several notches.

The best debut season as a Liverpool player

Salah had the best debut season as a Liverpool player, and despite the rumours surrounding his finishing abilities, he netted 44 times in all competitions, where 10 of them came in the coveted Champions League, where he had to leave the field in tears due to a shoulder injury. A decade ago, Spanish forward Torres had set the Kop ablaze, but he managed 33 goals, 11 short of Salah’s haul.

Ian Rush remains at the top with the most number of goals scored in a season with 47 under his belt. By the looks of it, and the attacking mentality of Klopp, Salah could well breach that figure in time.

Most Premier League player of the month award

Salah won the Premier League player of the month award 3 times; namely in November, February, and March. Again, comparisons can be drawn to the likes of Cristiano, Aguero, Henry, Cantona, and Kane who couldn’t achieve this feat.

Salah didn’t take his time adjusting to the league, although he had a brief run with Chelsea, but the Egyptian was outstanding from the start, and the awards remain testimony to his amazing year.

First player from Africa to net 30 goals in the league

There is the first, and Salah has achieved this feat with incredible ease. In a league where Drogba, Toure, Samuel Eto’o, and another new recruit Aubameyang, have proven their mettle, Salah was a cut above others in front of the goal. His tally of the highest may be broken by an African player in the future, but he will always be the first to show them how it can be done.

32 goals in 24 separate matches

His tally of 32 goals also highlighted how effective he can be in every match. Out of the 38 possible matches, Salah netted in 24 of them, showing how consistent he was throughout the season. There was not that slightest of lean patches, and he remained lethal even during the close of the campaign.

24 matches may not seem to be a lot, but to perform each matchday with same tenacity is outstanding, and add to that his ability to pick up teammates with his magical left foot.
